I have started dancing again! (WOHOO!) Due to the schedule change at work I no longer am working on Saturdays which means that I am now able to attend my Irish dancing classes :D I started dancing when I was 13 and moved up to the Performing group when I was about 14 or 15. In the performing group I would go around and dance for various places; many Irish or Scottish festivals, church functions, parades, nursing homes, concerts, we have even been asked to dance for Gallic Storm which is a very famous Irish dancing group (like riverdance) really anywhere we were wanted because my group dances for free. This is not a common practice among many Irish dancing schools- most schools are competition schools and work the entire year (or longer) to go to a fesh to compete and win. For these groups there are very expensive monthly group admission and lesson costs thousand dollar dresses, wigs that must be worn, on top of shoe care and any other trifling expenses. The group I dance with is called Rinceoiri Don Spraoi, which in Gaelic means "Dancing for Fun" this is exactly what we do! We have low cost classes and you do not need a costume unless you are in the performing group and even then we have our own personal seamstress so we save a TON on the dresses-The best part about my group is that we dance as a team and because of this dance is not only a great way to exercise and love what I am doing but it is also a community and I have many friends there. Dance for me has been a great comfort in many times of need and has helped me in ways that nothing else could! If you are ever looking for a great way to have fun for a couple hours and exercise (yes it is awesome exercise you can ask my aching mussels right now :P) Rinceoiri Don Spraoi is the best thing for you!

I can't ever remember how to pronounce the name of your dancing group. Instead, I have come up with my own name that I think you should adopt: Rice-a-roni Spironi!
