Avatar!

So... Avatar the Last Airbender is totally on my top list of favorite cartoons ever created. The graphics and animation in this show is so cool, its got that classic animation style to it with just enough of a twist to make it seem updated and cool. The story throughout is pretty sweet and well written. The characters are totally lovable (i know because i totally love them :P) basically if you have not seen it (netfix has it) i not only highly recommend them (you can get the whole series on dvd for a pretty sweet price on Amazon) i will help you watch them (there are like 10 websites to watch it on).

ANYHOW I just found out that nickelodeon studios is going to be doing another series related to Avatar the Last Air Bender! I don't really know if it is a sequel yet or a companion or what but it looks absolutely awesome! Its going to be called:

Avatar: The Legend of Korra

It even sounds awesome right...right... I KNOW! woo hoo! so i have a link to the teaser trailer that nickelodeon has put out, and also a link to the avitar-wiki page so if you (like me) are totally STOKED for this you can read up!

Harry Potter

The new Harry Potter movie just came out and my aunt, being the wonderful person that she is invited me (and a gaggle of friends) to come to a premier showing in a theater she rented. Needless to say at the prospect of not having to wait in line but still get the opportunity to see this fantastic movie was a phenomenal experience!

The movie itself was exactly what I hoped it to be in every way but one, and my only complaint in comparison is really quite small with the amazingness that is the final Harry Potter movie! For anyone reading this I am going to talk about the movie so if your an anti spoiler person then get off your butt go see the movie and then come back to finish reading my thoughts ;)

First to start with the good. Bellatrix LaStrange is Dead! And none other than the fabulous mrs weasley killed her, but not until she said one of my favorite quotes in the movie "not my daughter you B****!" this coming from a character as, well as "mom like" as Mrs Weasley for me just intensifies the brilliance of this for me. Secondly can I just say that Neville Longbottom just is Fabulous! I've always loved his character through every movie and every book and I feel Yates captured perfectly the seen where Voldimort carries Harry's thought to be lifeless body and Neville just spews awesomeness. He is such a champion! Oh also when he kills Nagani..... Ha that was epic! The last thing i'll mention here (if you saw it you know there's way more!) is the seen where Snape dies. They did this differently than the book but I almost like it better than the book! The depth that Alan Rickman portrays here (2 days later) still touches me! I always liked Snape through the whole series, even in book 6 when Snape kills Dumbledore I knew something else had to be going on. I stubbornly refused to believe he could be evil and do what he did. Snape was just to awesome! This however leads me to the one thing that did not live up to my expectations, the pensive. Don't get me wrong they did a beautiful job in this seen they just didn't build Snape and Lillys relationship enough. It's pretty funny now that I think about it but really the only thing I am mad/upset does not show up is the seen where Lilly saves Severus after one of James strings Snape up by his feet. It's silly I know, but I felt this was really important to show that Lilly remained such a loyal friend to Severus even though they clearly had different ideas, dreams, and passions. it also shows how good Lilly truly was.

Anyhow those are my thoughts! Epic movie! I can't wait for it to come out on blue ray! I want the full box set:D

Brave

I posted earlier about how excited i am about up and coming pixar and disney movies. The one I am most excited about is "Brave". They've started posting concept art, trailers, and this is the official description posted on Disney.com :D

"Since ancient times, stories of epic battles and mystical legends have been passed through the generations across the rugged and mysterious Highlands of Scotland. In “Brave,” a new tale joins the lore when the courageous Merida (voice of Kelly Macdonald) confronts tradition, destiny and the fiercest of beasts.
Merida is a skilled archer and impetuous daughter of King Fergus (voice of Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (voice of Emma Thompson). Determined to carve her own path in life, Merida defies an age-old custom sacred to the uproarious lords of the land: massive Lord MacGuffin (voice of Kevin McKidd), surly Lord Macintosh (voice of Craig Ferguson) and cantankerous Lord Dingwall (voice of Robbie Coltrane). Merida’s actions inadvertently unleash chaos and fury in the kingdom, and when she turns to an eccentric old Witch (voice of Julie Walters) for help, she is granted an ill-fated wish. The ensuing peril forces Merida to discover the meaning of true bravery in order to undo a beastly curse before it’s too late."

New And Awesome

So i've always been kinda a crazy Disney fan- I was just surfing the web and i found out about some really awesome Disney/ Pixar animated films that are going to be coming up in the next few years!

Tangled- November 24, 2010
I love Rupunzel, I love Disney- this is going to be epic! So Excited!

Cars II- June 24, 2011

When i was researching info on this movie there were a lot of people apprehensive about pixar sticking to just sequels in many of their projects set into motion. I personally am excited because i have yet to see a pixar movie that was not phenomenal regardless including the sequels they have done (Toy Story 2 and Toy Story 3) the synopsis i got is from Wikipedia

Lightning McQueen, his pit crew and his new crew chief, Mater,

head around the world for the "Race of Champions" taking place in five different countries: japan, Austria, Italy, a 24- hour race in France, and the United Kingdom. However, Mater, involved in a case of mistaken identity, saves the life of a British se

cret agent named Finn McMissile and finds himself embroiled in his world of international espionage.

Brave- June 15, 2012

Formally called The Bear and the Bow. Reese Witherspoon is casted as the main Character, Princess Merida. I've always been a huge Reese fan and look forward to her playing this role! the synopsis (and the info about Reese) is from Wikipedia- hope they're accurate sounds pretty cool and the concept art looks pretty intriguing as well!

"In Rugged and mythic Scotland the impetuous, tangled-haired Merida, though a daught

er of royalty, would rather make her mark as an archer. A clash of wills with her mother compels Merida to make a reckless choice, which unleashes unintended peril on her fathers kingdom and her mother's life. Merida struggles with the unpredictable forces of nature, magic, and a dark ancient curse."

Monsters Inc 2- November 2, 2012

Many felt the same way about Monsters Inc 2 as the did Cars II many saying that the would far rather have an incredibles 2 than a Monsters Inc 2- although i think that an incredibles 2 would be cool i personally would rather have a monsters inc 2. there have been so many super hero movies and things done recently that i feel like pixar would have a hard time coming up with an original plot line. and really when you think about it when pixar does something- they do it right and they do it creatively.

I was not able to find an official release of what the story line for this will be although i did find one site that rumored it taking place in the future with Boo all grown and then accidentally finding herself in the montroplolis again. Supposedly confirmed by a "friend who used to work for pixar animation"... how credible this is i have no idea!

King of the Elves- December 2012
I found out about this film earlier this year and was quite put out to find that it had been canceled... however disney brought it back online July 2010 and it is in production again for a release date some time in December! The Concept art for this looks totally awesome! This was found on a random blog so i don't know the validity of it- then again Wikipedia isn't always the most trustworthy source either so I thought i would include it anyway!

"based on Phillip K. Dick short story about a band of elves and on

e dwarf living in modern-day Mississippi Delta who name a local human their king after he helps them save them from an evil troll"

Pretty cool sounding huh! Can't wait to see the spin disney puts on it

Oh You're So Awesome Disney

So for 2010 Disney employed Annie Leibovitz to do a series of portrats for their "Year of a Million Dreams" campaign. Leibovitz is taking famous Move Stars and Sport Stars and incorporating them into famous disney charters. I think that a lot of these are really beautifully done and overall I think is a really cool step for Disney to take. My only complaint is that i have NO idea who half of these "stars" are. I wish that more well known and loved stars would have been used. Anyhow Enjoy!

The Little Mermaid, (Ariel) Julianne Moore and Michael Phelps

Sword In The Stone (King Arthur) Roger Federer

Snow White- Rachel Weisz
Sleeping Beauty- (Aurora) Vanessa Hudgens and (Prince Phillip) Zac Efron
Sleeping Beauty (Prince Phillip) David Beckham
Pocahontas- Jessica Biel
Pinocchio (Blue Fairy) Julie Andrews, Abigail Breslin
Peter Pan (Peter) Mikhail Baryshnikov, (Wendy) Gisele Bundchen, (TinkerBell) Tina Fey
Cinderella- Scarlett Johanson
Alice and Wonderland- (Alice) Beyonce, (Mad Hatter) Oliver Platt (March Hair) Lyle Lovett
Aladin (Geni) Whoopi Goldberg
Aladin- Mark Anthony, (Jasmine) Jennifer Lopez
